Dizziness and Balance

Alterations in space orientation and/or equilibrium can be due to anomalies in the receptors of the vestibular system, visual system or somatosensorial system; secondary to disturbances in the analytic processes of the brain; or as a consequence of inability to correctly respond to the stimulus.

The sensations or symptoms produced for these alterations can vary depending on the kind of injury, the location of it, the evolution of it, and even people’s lifestyles. The term dizziness encompasses a wide variety of symptoms that go from disorientation, lightheadedness, general imbalance to sensation of intense movement and inability to stand.
